Introduction
This cookie notice (“Cookie Notice”) describes how ZipHQ, Inc. and its affiliates (“Zip”, “we,” “us” or “our”) use, cookies and similar technologies when you use our services (including our websites, web-based products and services, e-mail, and marketing/advertising communications, together the "services").
We use the term “cookie” to refer to all technologies which store and access information on the device that you use to access our services, such as your computer, tablet, or mobile phone.
‍
What are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on a visitor’s device to uniquely identify the visitor’s browser or to store information or settings in the browser. Cookies can be necessary and useful and are often used to help the website function properly and to provide information to the owner(s) of the site. For example, cookies enable websites to remember information about you, such as your language preference, login information and other user-selected preferences. Cookies also help us understand user activity and patterns of our services.
There are different types of cookies, including:
‍
These cookies are served on our behalf, for example by advertising and data analytics service providers.
Session cookies
These cookies only last as long as your browser is open. These cookies are deleted automatically when you close your browser.
Persistent cookies
These cookies remain after your browser is closed, until cleared. For example, they store your device identifier and recognize your device when you open and use your browser.
For more information about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set on your browser and how to manage and delete them, visit
www.allaboutcookies.org.
‍
How Zip Uses Cookies
Our services use both session and persistent cookies to: enable you to sign in and use our services, store your preferences and settings within them; analyze how they perform, personalize your experience with them, provide interest-based advertising, facilitate social media interaction, allow us to administer the services, track users’ movements around our websites, and gather demographic information about our user base as a whole and for other lawful purposes. We may also use other tracking technologies for these purposes, such as web pixels that track browsing activity, social media widgets that facilitate interaction with social media platforms and unique device identifiers. In some cases, these cookies and other tracking technologies are used by third parties.
‍
Types of Cookies We Use
The following table sets out the different types of cookies that our services use:
‍
These cookies are set by a range of social media services that we have added to the site to enable you to share our content with your friends and networks. They are capable of tracking your browser across other sites and building up a profile of your interests. This may impact the content and messages you see on other websites you visit. If you do not allow these cookies you may not be able to use or see these sharing tools.
Functional
These cookies enable the website to provide enhanced functionality and personalization. They may be set by us or by third party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these cookies then some or all of these services may not function properly.
Targeting
These cookies may be set through our site by our advertising partners. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. They do not store directly personal information, but are based on uniquely identifying your browser and internet device. If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising.
Strictly Necessary
These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the site will not then work. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information.
You can view specific details of the cookies we use via our
Cookie Management Tool.
What about other tracking technologies?
As noted above, cookies are not the only way to recognize or track visitors to our websites. We may use other similar technologies from time to time, such as web beacons (sometimes called “tracking pixels” or “clear gifs”). These are tiny graphics files that contain a unique identifier that enable us to recognize when someone has visited our website or opened an email that we have sent them. This allows us, for example, to monitor the traffic patterns of users from one page within our website to another, to deliver or communicate with cookies, to understand whether you have come to our website from an online advertisement displayed on a third-party website, to improve site performance, and to measure the success of email marketing campaigns. In many instances, these technologies rely on cookies to function properly, and so declining cookies will often impair their functioning.
‍

‍
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Do Not Track: Some Internet browsers may be configured to send “Do Not Track” or “DNT” signals to the online services that you visit. Unfortunately, these features are not yet uniform and there is no common standard adopted by industry groups, technology companies, or regulators. Therefore, Zip does not monitor or respond to “Do Not Track” browser requests. To find out more about “Do Not Track,” please visit
http://www.allaboutdnt.com. Â
‍
Global Privacy Control: Zip honours the
Global Privacy Control on browsers and/or browser extensions that support such a signal. To find out more about the Global Privacy Control visit:
