Just two years ago, Zip brought the concept of procurement orchestration to market, a fundamentally new platform vision unifying the people, systems, and workflows involved in enterprise purchasing.

Today, we are excited to announce a major step forward in our realization of that vision: Zip has been named a Visionary in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Source-to-Pay Suites.

We believe this recognition validates that the end-state of procurement orchestration must include this new vision of source-to-pay.

Zip is the only procurement orchestration platform in the analysis, and the first new globally deployable option entering into this market in two decades. In our opinion, this moment signals both the future of procurement orchestration and a new direction for how companies approach source-to-pay. And we couldn’t be more excited.

Why the future of procurement orchestration includes source-to-pay

We believe the inclusion of an agentic procurement orchestration platform on the Magic Quadrant for Source-to-Pay Suites marks a seminal moment for procurement. At Zip, we believe the future of procurement is less about marginally improved point solutions and more comprehensive suites, but more about fully integrated AI-powered orchestration.

Procurement orchestration treats the source-to-pay process as a cross-functional workflow problem rather than a category of software features. Orchestration connects people, systems, and your organization’s data, and uses AI to automate the transactional work that happens between them.

This is the full realization of the promise of procurement orchestration. We believe Zip’s inclusion as a Visionary validates this approach, that native source-to-pay depth is required to get the full value of procurement orchestration and will lead to the future of the procurement orchestration market.

This orchestration-based approach and modern architecture is how Zip is creating a true AI-native platform built for the future of procurement.

How AI and orchestration are redefining procurement

We believe this recognition signals a broader shift in how the analyst community views procurement technology. For years, the S2P market has been defined by suite consolidation, or vendors competing to offer the most modules under one roof. Orchestration represents a different paradigm: a platform layer that unifies existing systems and delivers unique automations through intelligent workflows and AI agents.

Our State of Spend research found that when asked for their ‘dream procurement stack’ with full autonomy and budget, 70% of leaders preferred a hybrid or orchestrated best-of-breed approach.

Moreover, leaders are asking not just for more connected processes but also more automated ones. Zip’s AI agents complete tasks across finance, legal, procurement, IT, and security without requiring human intervention at every step.

Rather than retrofitting AI onto legacy infrastructure, Zip is building natively for a future where AI agents handle the routine work and humans focus on the strategic decisions that matter.

Enterprise customers such as T-Mobile, Dollar Tree, Mars, Prudential, and OpenAI have already adopted this approach. Our customers choose Zip because they aren’t interested in waiting for legacy vendors to catch up. They want results now.

Why Zip is built for enterprise procurement transformation

Procurement transformation isn’t a one-quarter initiative, even if Zip implementation can drive results in less than 90 days. Transformation is a multi-year commitment that requires a vendor partner with the resources and roadmap to deliver sustained value.

We've invested $150 million in R&D in FY26 alone, with global product and engineering teams across San Francisco, New York, and London. In the past 12 months, we've shipped over 1,200 features guided by a customer-informed roadmap. Backed by $371 million in funding at a $2.2 billion valuation, we're resourced to lead this category for years to come.

We believe being named a Visionary in the Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Source-to-Pay Suites is confirmation that the future of procurement orchestration runs from intake-to-pay.

The next chapter of procurement is being written now, and we're honored to build it alongside our customers.
